Alter-Learning is seeking a talented WordPress Full-Stack Developer to join our growing team and help build, maintain, and optimize our online presence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing custom WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and integrations while ensuring high performance, security, scalability, and an outstanding user experience.
This role involves working closely with our designers, AI developers, marketing team, game developers, and leadership to create a modern, responsive, and engaging website that showcases Alter-Learning’s AI-powered educational platform, immersive learning experiences, and educational games.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the Alter-Learning website using WordPress best practices.
- Build custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to business and educational requirements.
- Develop both front-end and back-end functionality for the website.
- Integrate third-party APIs, AI services, CRM platforms, marketing tools, analytics, and other external systems.
- Optimize website speed, performance, scalability, and security.
- Ensure full responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement engaging and intuitive user interfaces.
- Work closely with AI developers and game developers to integrate educational games and platform features into the website.
- Implement SEO best practices to maximize search engine visibility and website traffic.
- Develop and maintain user authentication, forms, landing pages, blogs, and educational content pages.
- Troubleshoot website issues, bugs, and compatibility problems across browsers and devices.
- Maintain website security, backups, updates, and plugin compatibility.
- Optimize website accessibility following modern web standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
- Stay up to date with WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, and web development best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience as a WordPress Full-Stack Developer or similar role.
- Strong expertise in WordPress architecture, custom themes, and plugin development.
- Advanced knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js is a plus.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design principles.
- Experience with WooCommerce and payment gateway integrations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Experience with website optimization, caching, and performance tuning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, with a particular focus on WordPress, and will be comfortable working in development staging environments. This role is crucial for ensuring our educational platform runs smoothly, is highly customizable, and remains secure.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites, including custom themes and plugins, using PHP.
- Work closely with the design and content teams to implement responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Ensure websites are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
- Manage and execute the migration of websites from development (staging) to production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including debugging and optimizing code.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress, PHP, and web development trends, best practices, and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio of custom themes, plugins, and website projects.
