DevOps Engineer for AI-Powered Educational Games

Position Overview

Alter Learning is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and support the development and deployment of AI-powered educational games. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable deployment strategies. This role involves working closely with our AI/ML engineers, game developers, and data scientists to ensure seamless integration and delivery of new features to our learning platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure to support AI-powered educational games and services.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process for Unity and Unreal Engine projects.
  • Work with AI/ML engineers to integrate machine learning models into our game infrastructure and ensure efficient delivery of updates.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud-based resources to ensure smooth gameplay and minimal downtime.
  • Automate deployment processes and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Ensure security best practices across all deployment environments to protect user data and maintain compliance.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, provide solutions for server performance, and maintain high availability for game services.
  • Collaborate with game developers and data scientists to create a seamless user experience and facilitate continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Familiarity with game development processes in Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud infrastructure best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Professional-level English proficiency.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in integrating AI/ML models into production environments.
  • Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Background in educational games or e-learning platforms.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
