Position Overview

Alter Learning is seeking a Data Scientist with a passion for transforming educational experiences through data analysis and machine learning. In this role, you will analyze player data and build predictive models to create personalized learning experiences in Unity and Unreal Engine. Your insights will help shape the way students interact with and learn from our games, making a direct impact on their educational journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze player interaction data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive game improvements.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models to adapt gameplay based on student engagement, performance, and behavior.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate data-driven insights into real-time game adjustments.
  • Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of personalized learning pathways.
  • Partner with game developers to ensure data-driven decisions enhance gameplay and learning outcomes.
  • Create visualizations that effectively communicate data insights to developers, game designers, and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in educational games or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python and libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, feature engineering, and building predictive models.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience in data wrangling.
  • Familiarity with game analytics and player engagement metrics.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Matplotlib).
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data insights clearly.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Professional-level English proficiency.
