Position Overview
Alter Learning is seeking a skilled Unreal Developer with experience in Blueprints and visual scripting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Unreal Engine development, with a focus on using Blueprints to create and implement game features. Strong teamwork experience and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement game features and mechanics using Unreal Engine, with a focus on Blueprints and visual scripting.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and other developers to translate game concepts and ideas into functional and engaging gameplay.
- Create and maintain Blueprint scripts for various game systems, including gameplay mechanics, UI elements, and interactive features.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues related to game functionality, performance, and Blueprints.
- Optimize game performance and ensure a high-quality user experience across different platforms.
- Contribute to the overall development process, from initial design through to deployment and maintenance.
- Review and provide feedback on code and Blueprints developed by other team members.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with Unreal Engine, including expertise in using Blueprints and visual scripting for game development.
- Strong understanding of Unreal Engine’s architecture and best practices for game development.
- Experience working collaboratively within a team environment, with effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and project management tools.
- Ability to create efficient, maintainable, and scalable Blueprint scripts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of C++ in Unreal Engine for advanced scripting and customization.
- Experience with Unreal Engine’s multiplayer and networking features.
- Familiarity with educational game development and integrating learning objectives into gameplay.
- Understanding of game design principles and how to implement them using Blueprints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous involvement in projects that feature complex Blueprint systems or interactive features.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and working in a collaborative team environment.
- Portfolio or examples of previous Unreal Engine projects demonstrating expertise with Blueprints and visual scripting.
