About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and strategic Agile Product Owner to join our dynamic team. As the key link between business stakeholders and development teams, the Product Owner will ensure the product aligns with business objectives while maximizing value to customers. This individual will own the product backlog, set priorities, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Vision & Roadmap:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the product vision and goals.
- Contribute to building a clear and actionable product roadmap that aligns with business objectives and customer needs.
- Backlog Management:
- Create, refine, and manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects priorities aligned with business strategy.
- Clearly define user stories, acceptance criteria, and business value for each backlog item.
- Continuously prioritize and refine the backlog based on feedback and sprint progress.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate project updates.
- Work closely with product managers, customers, and Alter Learning leadership to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
- Agile Delivery Leadership:
- Act as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of product features and timelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives).
- Make informed trade-off decisions between scope, budget, and timeline to maximize delivery outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role within an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, etc.).
- Proven experience managing product backlogs and working with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to define and communicate a product vision and translate it into actionable deliverables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with product management tools such as Jira and Trello.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) are a plus.
