Job Summary/Objective:
Alter-Learning Inc is seeking a highly skilled and creative Remote 3D Artist (Hard-Surface and Organic) to join our team. As a 3D Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning and immersive 3D prop models for our educational gaming projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop visually appealing and high-quality 3D hard-surface and organic prop models for educational gaming projects.
- Utilize industry-standard 3D packages such as Maya, Blender, and ZBrush to create detailed and realistic prop assets.
- Apply texturing skills using software like Substance Painter to produce realistic and visually engaging textures.
- Collaborate with the art team to ensure the alignment of prop assets with project requirements and visual style.
- Optimize models and assets for game performance, adhering to polycount guidelines and utilizing asset optimization techniques.
- Utilize high-poly to low-poly baking workflows for optimized asset creation.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing progress updates, seeking feedback, and incorporating art direction into your work.
- Meet project deadlines and milestones, managing time effectively to prioritize and complete tasks promptly.
- Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies related to hard-surface and organic modeling and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the visual impact of our games.
Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your skills in creating high-quality 3D prop models.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D packages such as Maya, Blender, Photoshop, and ZBrush.
- Experience with 3D painting software like Substance Painter.
- Experience with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other artists and stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with a professional working level of English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to receive direction from the Art Director and Lead Artist and incorporate feedback into your work.
- Strong grasp of art principles and understanding of game development pipelines and best practices.
- Ability to meet deadlines under tight schedules.
- Effective communication skills to provide progress updates and seek clarification when needed.
