Game Tester / Quality Assurer (QA)

Your Role

As a Game Tester / Quality Assurer, you will ensure that every Alter-Learning game meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience. You’ll play a key role in testing gameplay features, identifying and documenting bugs, and providing feedback that helps refine our educational products before release.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test game builds across multiple devices and platforms (mobile, web, PC).
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, glitches, and performance issues using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or GitHub Issues).
  • Evaluate gameplay mechanics, UI/UX design, and learning flow for usability and engagement.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to verify bug fixes and ensure stable releases.
  • Conduct regression, functional, and performance testing throughout the development cycle.
  • Contribute to test case creation and continuous QA process improvement.
  • Provide feedback on overall player experience and learning effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality assurance or game testing (manual or automated).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze gameplay and user experience.
  • Familiarity with testing workflows, issue tracking, and QA documentation.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Organized, self-driven, and proactive in remote team environments.
  • Passion for gaming, education, and improving digital experiences for learners.

Preferred

  • Experience testing Unity or Unreal Engine projects.
  • Knowledge of educational games, gamification, or STEAM learning platforms.
  • Experience testing across various devices (iOS, Android, web browsers, tablets).
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and best practices (functional, regression, usability).
  • Previous experience in EdTech or similar digital learning products.
